An Apology

Hello. Well, this is awkward. It has been more than a year since I last posted. I was actually in the middle of writing a new post before I logged off and didn't come back. I am thinking about reviving this blog, since I have a garden this year as well. I have already planted everything, since summer is close to being over, but I can post little pictures of how my plants are doing. Hopefully. This is the draft of what I was going to post a year ago, but didn't end up doing so. I hope you enjoy since this is the conclusion of last year's blog series: Day 6: (5/21/18) It's been a while, so I thought I would share updates on all of my plants. I am currently sitting outside on this lovely day, typing this out for you! First up is my new cactus: It is a clipping from my biology teacher's big cactus. He said that it would grow if I just stuck it in the ground, so that's what I did. We'll see how it does. Next up are my corn plants, which I just pl

Day 5: Mystery Plants

Today I noticed that there are new plants starting to sprout: You can see them in the bottom right corner and the top left corner. I'm not sure what they are just yet, but they're either celery, spearmint, or radishes since my corn and my basil have already started growing. I also added some coffee grounds to my avocado tree because I read online that coffee grounds are good for fertilization.

Day 4: Corn?

Things are slow with the whole waiting-for-plants-to-grow thing, but I came home after my AP CSP exam and look! It's a bit hard to see, but there are two little sproutlings coming up. I think these are corn. More updates about these littluns coming soon.

Day 3: More Basil

I found a lot more basil growing underneath the soil. I took some of the soil off and look: I might've planted the seeds too deep. Anyway, there's no new updates on my other plants, sadly. I'm hoping my other plants will start to grow too!

Day 2: Sproutlings!

Today, I have found a few plants starting to sprout! I didn't label the containers, but I'm pretty sure that these are basil. Here's a pic: Look at how cute they are! I can't wait to see how fast they grow. I'm still waiting on the other plants to show signs of life, but it's only been a few days. I'll update when they start sprouting.

Day 1: Avocado

I forgot to share my avocado plants that I started yesterday! I have 5 started. None of them have changed as of yesterday, but that's to be expected. Here are a couple of pics of them: I love them so much. I'm very excited to see if they'll grow! I'll have updates on my other plants as soon as they start sprouting. Right now, it's just dirt and that's not very exciting.

Hello!

Well, I guess the only way to start a blog is to make the first post. My name is Laura and I have never really been good with plants. But, ever since I've kept my 3 cacti, 1 avocado, and 1 (recently bought) aloe plant alive, I feel like I should take the next step and plant some plants to grow over the summer, to hopefully harvest and eat. This blog will show that journey, if I keep up with it. A couple days ago, I planted some peppermint, corn, celery, basil, and radishes in starter containers. I probably should've done more research, but me being the way that I am, I just went ahead and planted them. We'll see how that goes. Anyway, I hope I can look back on this and see my planting journey, and maybe learn some new tips and tricks about how to be a better mom to some plants.
